A student asked me
しょくじします(shokuji simasu) and たべます(tabemasu) is same ?
Answer is YES. Same meaning.
So, why2 words are there in Japanese?
I don’t know why.
But In Japanese, easy words and difficult words are there.
For example,
(easy) - (difficult)
食(た)べます- 食事(しょくじ)します (eat food)
休(やす)みます- 休憩(きゅうけい)します (take a rest)
わかります - 理解(りかい)します (understand)
難(むずか)しい – 難解(なんかい)な (difficult)
忙(いそが)しい - 多忙(たぼう)な (busy)
ことば - 単語(たんご) (words)
As you see when I write difficult words, use succesive 2KANJI characters.
(食事、休憩、理解、難解、多忙、単語)
Because difficult words are those came from Chinese.
On the other hand, easy words are original Japanese words.
Children master easy words first.
I feel we use easy words for speaking, and difficult words for writing.
So I think students should study easy words first.
And now i show you how to use しょくじします and たべます
“Have you had breakfast?”
朝(あさ)ごはんを 食(た)べましたか?
朝(あさ)、食事(しょくじ)しましたか?
“Will you have dinner together tonight?”
いっしょに、ばんごはんを 食(た)べませんか?
こんばん、いっしょに お食事(しょくじ)は どうですか?
